Anoscopy: This includes insertion of a tube with a camera inside the anal canal to view the inside of your rectum and anus. The tube is flexible and is very thin. If the fissure is painful, then topical anaesthesia will be given during the tube insertion.
Colonoscopy: In a colonoscopy, the entire rectum is examined by inserting a tube into the rectum. This test is used for patients who are above 50 years and are at risk of developing colon cancer.
